Construction Update…

Moonlight Bay Centre has had a facelift! We now have a new kitchen/dining hall as well as a recreation hall. Both new halls have a gorgeous and rustic covered veranda with lake-side views where many cups of ice tea and coffee will be enjoyed. The new space will bring more security, safety, and overall better function to the programming out at the centre.

Thank you to all who have made this dream become a reality. It is amazing how many people hold Moonlight Bay Centre near and dear to their heart. Keep visiting this page as we update you with new photos as progress is being made.

What is Moonlight Bay Centre?

Moonlight Bay Centre is a small piece of paradise on the shores of a quiet bay on Wabamun Lake, just 60 kms West of Edmonton. We have our own beach access, several duplex style cabins, activity halls, shower/bathroom facilities, outdoor chapel, and lots of green space with trees surrounding the property.

What kind of program is it?

We offer day retreats and overnight camps to adults, families and children who participate in Bissell Centre's programs or who use the agency's services. Interested parties register with a staff person at the Bissell Centre with the cost being very minimal to the participant, offering a well designed program, accommodation, food, and transportation. Please note that these retreats will not be offered in 2007 because of the construction.

Who runs the program?  

The Manager of Moonlight Bay Centre works with the other Bissell Centre program managers, to plan, implement and evaluate all Moonlight Bay Centre activities and facilities. We also have several summer staff and volunteer positions that make the Moonlight Bay Centre program such a great success!  We offer a Leaders in Training program to teens between the ages of 15 and 19 who learn skills during a week of training that they can then put into practice when volunteering at a family or youth retreat.
